Artsense Studio Recognised by ASEAN Records for Creating the Longest Hand-Painted Dragon Dance Artwork at a Children-and-Family Art Event

Artsense Studio Recognised by ASEAN Records for Creating the Longest Hand-Painted Dragon Dance Artwork at a Children-and-Family Art Event

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Artsense Studio for achieving a meaningful cultural milestone as the: Longest Hand-Painted Dragon Dance Artwork Created at a Children-and-Family Art Event Led by a Cultural Creative Art Education Center (An 88-metre dragon painted on cloth, created by 118 children and their family members, with a total participation of 228 people)

This milestone was officially presented on 7 February 2026 at Sanctuary Mall, Kuala Lumpur, celebrating a powerful fusion of creativity, cultural heritage, and family participation.

Bringing Cultural Heritage to Life Through Collective Creativity

Artsense Studio has distinguished itself as a cultural creative art education centre dedicated to nurturing creativity, cultural appreciation, and holistic development in children through experiential learning.

The ASEAN Records–recognised initiative brought together children and their parents to collaboratively hand-paint an 88-metre dragon artwork inspired by traditional dragon dance heritage. Rather than focusing solely on artistic output, the programme emphasised participation, learning, and shared experience—transforming art creation into a collective cultural journey.

By engaging 118 children alongside their family members, the initiative demonstrated how cultural traditions can be sustained and reinterpreted through inclusive, community-driven creative education that bridges generations.

A Community-Centred Art Experience in Action

Held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the event unfolded through a structured programme that guided participants from registration and briefing to collaborative painting sessions. Children and parents worked side by side to complete different segments of the dragon artwork, while photography and video documentation captured the creative process and interactions throughout the day.

Upon completion, the painted sections were assembled into a single continuous dragon, followed by a dragon parade around the mall perimeter, allowing the artwork to be presented as a living cultural expression rather than a static display.

The successful completion of the artwork was formally announced on-site by ASEAN Records representatives, marking the culmination of a vibrant, family-oriented cultural celebration.

Seeing children and parents come together to create something rooted in tradition reminds us that culture is best preserved through participation, not observation. This milestone encourages us to continue creating platforms where creativity, learning, and family connection grow side by side.”

Inspiring the Next Generation Through Art and Heritage

This achievement reflects more than scale—it underscores the role of creative education in preserving cultural heritage while making it relevant to younger generations.

By placing children and families at the heart of the artistic process, Artsense Studio has demonstrated how cultural traditions can be passed on through participation rather than observation alone. The ASEAN Records recognition highlights the growing importance of community-based cultural programmes that foster creativity, inclusivity, and shared cultural identity across ASEAN.

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Zoo Negara Malaysia for achieving two significant regional milestones in the wildlife conservation and zoological sector:

Highest Number of Births & Hatchlings of Nationally Native Wildlife by a Single Zoo (450 specimens across 5 animal classes, January 2023 – August 2025)

Highest Number of Registered Participants in a Volunteer Program by a Zoo Over 5 Years (45,944 participants, January 2020 – July 2025)

These achievements reflect Zoo Negara Malaysia’s sustained commitment to biodiversity conservation, animal welfare, and meaningful public participation in wildlife stewardship.

Advancing Wildlife Conservation Through Successful Breeding Programmes

The first ASEAN Records recognition highlights Zoo Negara Malaysia’s outstanding success in the breeding and hatching of nationally native wildlife, recording 450 births and hatchlings across five animal classes within a span of less than three years.

This milestone underscores the zoo’s effective conservation strategies, professional animal care, and scientifically guided breeding programmes aimed at preserving Malaysia’s native fauna. The achievement contributes directly to national conservation goals and strengthens Zoo Negara’s role as a leading institution in regional wildlife sustainability.

Building One of ASEAN’s Largest Zoo Volunteer Communities

The second record recognises Zoo Negara Malaysia’s exceptional scale of community engagement, with 45,944 registered volunteers participating in its volunteer programmes over a five-year period.

This achievement reflects the zoo’s success in fostering public awareness, education, and hands-on involvement in wildlife conservation. Through structured volunteer initiatives, Zoo Negara has empowered citizens of aged 16 years and above to actively contribute to animal care, environmental education, and conservation advocacy—strengthening the connection between society and nature.

A Milestone Moment of Recognition

The recognition was officially presented on 22 October 2025 during the ASEAN Records Gala Night 2025 at the Andaman Grand Ballroom, Kuala Lumpur.

The recognition was received on stage by Datuk Rosly Lana, Deputy President of the Malaysian Zoological Society, representing Zoo Negara Malaysia and its governing body.

In reflecting on the achievement, Datuk Rosly Lana shared:

“Thank you to our amazing staff, officers, zookeepers, volunteers, and supporters who made these milestones possible. Together, we’re creating a brighter future for wildlife.”
