Largest Single-Program Multi-State Outdoor Recycled Sculpture Installation by a Government Agency (45 Sculptures Across 8 States, 6-Month Program, 07/2025–12/2025)

This recognition highlights a significant nationwide initiative that combines environmental sustainability, public education, and creative expression—demonstrating how recycled materials can be transformed into meaningful public installations that engage communities across Malaysia.

Transforming Waste into Public Art Across Malaysia

Implemented from July to December 2025, the initiative saw the development of 45 large-scale recycled sculptures across eight states, strategically placed in public spaces and key locations.

Through a waste-to-art approach, discarded materials such as metal, plastic, and industrial components were repurposed into visually striking installations. These sculptures serve as both artistic landmarks and educational platforms, encouraging the public to rethink waste as a resource rather than a burden.

Notable installations in Sepang—including a recycled airplane sculpture at Pantai Bagan Lalang and a traditional boat structure at Golden Palm Tree—symbolise innovation in sustainability while reinforcing environmental awareness at the community level.

Driving Environmental Awareness Through the 5R Approach

At the core of this initiative is the promotion of the 5R principles: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover, supporting national efforts to encourage responsible waste management practices.

By integrating environmental messaging into public art, the programme functions as a Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) platform—helping to shift public perception towards more sustainable habits.

The initiative also reflects strong collaboration between SWCorp, local authorities, educational institutions, and community stakeholders, ensuring that each installation delivers both environmental impact and local relevance.

Strengthening National Waste Management Efforts

As a government agency established under the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation Act 2007 (Act 673) and operating under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), SWCorp plays a central role in regulating, managing, and enforcing solid waste and public cleansing services across Malaysia.

SWCorp is also responsible for implementing and enforcing the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007 (Act 672), ensuring a more efficient, integrated, and sustainable national waste management system.

Beyond infrastructure and enforcement, SWCorp actively drives public awareness, education programmes, and community engagement initiatives—supporting Malaysia’s broader goal of building a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

Creating Community Impact and Supporting Local Tourism

In addition to environmental advocacy, the recycled sculptures contribute to local identity and tourism by transforming public spaces into visually engaging destinations.

These installations enhance the surrounding environment while attracting visitors, supporting local economies, and fostering a sense of community pride. At the same time, they create opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and skill development among participating teams.

The ASEAN Records certificate was officially presented on 31 March 2026 at Golden Palm Tree Malaysia, during the Arca Lestari Sepang programme.

The recognition was received by Mr Khalid Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of SWCorp, and witnessed by YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah Sabu, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government; Ms Vivian Gan, Corporate Deputy President of Sepang Goldcoast Sdn. Eco-Green Innovation Built for the Future

The data centre also features a wide range of advanced infrastructure capabilities, including 5MVA power capacity with dual-source power, 2N redundancy backup systems with minimum 48-hour generator support, controlled temperature and humidity environments, advanced fire protection systems using water mist and inert gas technologies, and multi-layered physical security architecture with biometric access and real-time surveillance.

OMEGA: A Next-Generation Smart Logistics Infrastructure

At the centre of this recognition is OMEGA 1 Bukit Raja, a flagship smart warehouse facility developed by Ally Logistic Property (ALP) in Klang, Selangor.

The facility represents a new generation of logistics infrastructure designed around automation, technology integration, and shared logistics services. Built as a three-storey smart warehouse, OMEGA 1 integrates an advanced Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) that allows multiple supply chains to operate within a single automated ecosystem.

The facility offers over 100,000 pallet storage positions and more than 1.2 million square feet of net leasable warehouse space, supported by approximately 200 loading docks and extensive parking infrastructure.

Driving Efficiency Through Smart Systems and Scalable Infrastructure

The warehouse is powered by ALPOS, ALP’s in-house smart IT platform that integrates warehouse management systems with automation equipment such as cranes, racking systems, I/O ports and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), enabling seamless inventory movement and real-time operational visibility.

A key innovation of OMEGA is its Infrastructure-as-a-Service model, where companies can lease automated pallet storage capacity through a scalable pay-as-you-use pallet leasing system. This approach removes the need for heavy upfront capital investment, making advanced logistics infrastructure more accessible to businesses of all sizes.

OMEGA 1 Bukit Raja was designed with sustainability and operational efficiency in mind. The facility incorporates environmental features such as energy-efficient LED lighting, rainwater harvesting systems, high solar-reflective roofing, and structural readiness for solar panel installations.

Strategically located within Klang Valley, the facility offers strong connectivity to major logistics routes including Port Klang, West Coast Expressway, North Klang Valley Expressway, and the Federal Highway, positioning it as a key logistics hub supporting manufacturing, distribution, e-commerce, and regional trade.

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise De Carton for achieving a pioneering sustainability milestone as the: First ESG Consumer Bazaar Constructed Using Recyclable Cardboard-Based Event Infrastructure, Planned Around Circular Economy Principles, Supplied by a Single Provider (2,988 sq ft event space featuring 175 cardboard-based infrastructure structures, assembled from a total of 1,761 recyclable cardboard pieces, supplied by a provider with ISO 14064-1–verified GHG emissions intensity).

This recognition marks a significant advancement in ESG-driven event design—demonstrating how sustainability, functionality, and scalability can be integrated into real-world consumer experiences.

Redefining ESG Event Infrastructure Through Circular Design

Spanning 2,988 square feet, the ESG consumer bazaar—held from 16–18 January 2026—was fully constructed using 175 purpose-designed cardboard structures, produced from 1,761 recyclable cardboard components. Every element, including exhibition zones, display counters, and shared public spaces, was intentionally designed for dismantling, reuse, or recycling after the event.

Planned around circular economy principles, the project illustrates how low-carbon materials and thoughtful engineering can replace conventional wood and plastic infrastructure without compromising durability, aesthetics, or user experience.

Supported by ISO 14064-1–verified greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity, the initiative sets a new benchmark for practical, scalable ESG event solutions, advancing sustainable event practices across the ASEAN region.

The event brought together record holders, partners, industry leaders, and members of the public in a vibrant, open setting — reinforcing ASEAN Records’ belief that achievements should not only be documented, but also shared, celebrated, and experienced by the wider community.

Held with the support of ASEAN Malaysia 2025 and Visit Malaysia 2026, the Gather of Achievers highlighted how record achievements can play a meaningful role in Malaysia’s cultural, tourism, and national storytelling efforts.

The iconic Jonker Walk Heritage Zone in Melaka, Malaysia has been officially recognised by ASEAN Records as the:Oldest and Densest Pre-War Row-Shophouse Complex in Continuous Use Since c.1700

This dual recognition celebrates Jonker Walk’s unmatched historical value and living heritage, as a vibrant cultural-commercial hub that has remained continuously in use for over 325 years.

A Cultural Landmark of Regional Significance

Located in the heart of Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage City, the Jonker Walk Heritage Zone is home to more than 1,000 pre-war shophouses that span an area of 332,310.32 square metres (≈33.23 hectares). These structures, featuring unique architectural styles and functions, line the streets at an average density of 15 shophouses per 100 metres — making it the densest known continuous stretch of its kind in the ASEAN region.

The shophouses, also known as “kedai-kedai runcit warisan” or “骑楼” in Chinese, have served generations of merchants, artisans, and families — maintaining their economic and cultural relevance since the early 1700s.
