ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Birkin International Hotel for achieving a groundbreaking regional milestone, as the: First & Largest ESG Systems Deployment at Launch by a Five-Star Hotel (12 Initiatives Across 5 Sustainability Categories)

This recognition underscores the hotel’s role as a leader in sustainable hospitality — redefining luxury through environmental responsibility, innovation, and holistic well-being.

Leading the Future of Responsible Travel

Located in Melaka, Birkin International Hotel is a new-generation five-star destination built with sustainability at its core. At the time of launch, the hotel implemented the highest number of ESG systems in ASEAN for a newly launched luxury hotel, spanning across five key pillars of Environmental, Social, and Governance impact.

The 12 initiatives officially recognised include:

• In-house RO water bottling system (reducing bottled water dependency)

• Food Bank Program (Bank Makanan Birkin) — a flagship CSR project to support underserved communities

The official ASEAN Records certificate was proudly presented to Mr. Simon Tan, General Manager of Birkin International Hotel, during the Birkin Food Bank Launch Ceremony and Memorandum of Understanding signing, held on 30 October 2025 at the hotel’s Ballroom 2.

Popular beauty influencer Anjoe Koh, who collaborated with the brand for the launch campaign, also joined the event to share her experience and insights into consumer responses.

The ASEAN Records Gala Night 2025, held at the Andaman Ballroom, Kuala Lumpur, was graced by the esteemed presence of Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, who attended the celebration as the Guest of Honour, in recognition of regional unity and verified excellence.

During the evening, Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam was officially recognised by ASEAN Records for: First and Only Sitting State Governor in ASEAN to Receive a National Sports Leadership Award (Anugerah Tokoh Sukan Negara, presented by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 13 May 2024)

This recognition highlights his contributions to public service, youth and sports development, and his unique role in championing national unity through sports.
