ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Basis Bay Sustainable Solutions – Developer and Operator of Basis Bay Cyberjaya Data Centre 2 (DC2) for achieving the milestone:
First Purpose-Built Eco-Green Premium Data Centre with Rated-4 Design & Constructed Facility Certification, Dual Green Building Certifications and Multiple On-Site Environmental Systems (ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated-4 Design & Constructed Facility certified 29 Dec 2025, LEED Platinum & GBI Gold, 24 integrated environmental and sustainability systems, inaugurated 5 November 2025)
The recognition was presented on 11 March 2026 at Andaman Seafood Village Kuala Lumpur, during the 8th ASEAN Records Gather of Achievers.
Advancing Secure and Sustainable Digital Infrastructure

Cyberjaya Data Centre 2 (DC2) represents the next generation of secure, sovereign and environmentally responsible data centre infrastructure in Malaysia and the ASEAN region. Purpose-built for mission-critical operations, the facility is designed to meet the stringent requirements of financial institutions, enterprises and digital platforms that require the highest levels of reliability, resilience and data protection.
Developed and operated by Basis Bay, a pioneer in sustainable cloud and eco-green data centre innovation, DC2 demonstrates how digital infrastructure can combine performance, operational resilience and environmental responsibility.
The facility is engineered to meet ANSI/TIA-942 Rated-4 standards, the highest level of data centre classification, ensuring fault-tolerant operations and concurrent maintainability with no single point of failure. Its infrastructure incorporates 2N redundancy systems and resilient design architecture, allowing uninterrupted data availability for mission-critical digital environments.
Strategically located in Cyberjaya, within Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor, the facility offers robust connectivity and secure infrastructure while supporting national data sovereignty objectives. The data centre is Malaysian-led, operated and controlled, ensuring that sensitive information remains securely governed within local jurisdiction.
Eco-Green Innovation Built for the Future

Cyberjaya DC2 is also designed as an Eco-Green Premium Data Centre, integrating sustainability principles directly into its architecture and operations. The facility incorporates multiple environmental systems and sustainable design elements, including renewable energy initiatives, rainwater harvesting systems, green facades and biodiversity-preserving landscaping.
Designed by internationally recognised eco-architect Dr. Ken Yeang, the facility demonstrates how world-class digital infrastructure can coexist with environmental stewardship, supporting global ESG goals while maintaining enterprise-grade performance.
The data centre also features a wide range of advanced infrastructure capabilities, including 5MVA power capacity with dual-source power, 2N redundancy backup systems with minimum 48-hour generator support, controlled temperature and humidity environments, advanced fire protection systems using water mist and inert gas technologies, and multi-layered physical security architecture with biometric access and real-time surveillance.
Through these integrated systems, DC2 provides a future-ready digital infrastructure platform capable of supporting the growing demands of cloud computing, enterprise IT operations and mission-critical digital services across ASEAN.
A Milestone Moment of Recognition
The ASEAN Records certificate was officially presented on 11 March 2026, and was proudly received by Ts. Dinesh Manoharan, Principle Data Centre Architect, Basis Bay Global Data Centres, and Jason Wong Hong Jun, Senior Marketing Manager, Basis Bay Global Data Centres, in acknowledgement of their leadership in advancing the development of high-performance, environmentally responsible data centre infrastructure.
Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition, Ts. Dinesh Manoharan shared:
“Cyberjaya DC2 was designed to demonstrate that digital infrastructure can deliver both resilience and sustainability at the highest level. By combining Rated-4 operational standards with eco-green architecture and strong data sovereignty principles, we aim to provide enterprises with a trusted platform for mission-critical operations while contributing to a more sustainable digital future for the region.”
In addition, Jason Wong Hong Jun added:
“This recognition is not only a milestone for Basis Bay, but also a reflection of Malaysia’s growing leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure. From a market perspective, Cyberjaya DC2 represents the convergence of three critical priorities for modern BFSI institutions and enterprises — resilience, sovereignty and sustainability.
As organisations across the region accelerate their digital transformation, there is increasing demand for infrastructure that is not only secure and reliable, but also environmentally responsible. Through DC2, we aim to position Malaysia as a trusted hub for sovereign, eco-green digital infrastructure serving both regional and global enterprises.”
