Chongdee Teahouse Recognised by ASEAN Records for Pioneering Naturally Brewed Colourless Thai Tea Using 100% Ceylon Leaves

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Chongdee Teahouse for achieving the milestone: First Naturally Brewed Colourless Thai Tea Made from 100% Ceylon Leaves via In-House Steam Distillation Certified Free from Synthetic Food Colourings

This recognition marks a significant breakthrough in the specialty tea and beverage industry, affirming Chongdee Teahouse’s leadership in reimagining traditional Thai tea through natural brewing innovation, ingredient integrity, and in-house production control.

Redefining Thai Tea Through Natural Brewing Innovation

Traditionally known for its distinctive orange hue, Thai tea has long relied on added colourings to achieve its signature appearance. Chongdee Teahouse challenged this convention by developing a naturally brewed, colourless Thai tea, achieved through in-house steam distillation using 100% Ceylon tea leaves.

By removing synthetic food colourings entirely, Chongdee preserves the authentic aroma and flavour profile of Thai tea while offering a cleaner, more transparent beverage option aligned with modern consumer preferences for natural and responsibly crafted products.

This innovation reflects Chongdee Teahouse’s commitment to craftsmanship, process ownership, and ingredient purity—demonstrating that tradition and innovation can coexist without compromise.

“This recognition by ASEAN Records affirms our belief that great tea begins with respect for ingredients and process. Creating a naturally colourless Thai tea using 100% Ceylon leaves required us to rethink traditional methods while staying true to flavour authenticity.

We are proud to introduce a cleaner, naturally brewed Thai tea experience to Malaysia, and this milestone motivates us to continue innovating responsibly while honouring the heritage of Thai tea culture.”

Introducing Chongdee Teahouse to Malaysia

Founded on the philosophy of natural brewing, transparency, and quality, Chongdee Teahouse is known for its meticulous approach to tea preparation, from ingredient selection to in-house processing techniques.

The opening of Chongdee Teahouse’s first Malaysian outlet at Pavilion Bukit Jalil marks an important step in the brand’s regional journey—bringing its signature naturally brewed Thai tea concept to a wider audience while maintaining the same standards of quality and authenticity that define the brand.

Karl Ho Recognised by ASEAN Records for Achieving the Highest Number of Participants Wearing Batik at a National State-Flower Fashion Collection Launch

Karl Ho Recognised by ASEAN Records for Achieving the Highest Number of Participants Wearing Batik at a National State-Flower Fashion Collection Launch

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Karl Ho, international fashion designer and cultural advocate, for achieving the milestone: Most Participants Wearing Batik at the Launch of a National State-Flower Fashion Collection (1,808 Participants)

This landmark achievement was realised during the First Jiuzhou Cultural Heritage International Fashion Showcase, held on 24 January 2026 at Chung Hua High School, Negeri Sembilan—marking a powerful convergence of fashion, education, and cultural identity.

Uniting Fashion, Education, and Negeri Sembilan Cultural Identity

The fashion showcase brought together 1,808 participants, all dressed in batik, forming a record-setting display of collective cultural expression. Participants included students, alumni, educators, models, and members of the wider community, reflecting broad-based engagement across generations.

Curated and led by Karl Ho, an internationally recognised fashion designer and alumnus of Chung Hua High School, the collection integrated Negeri Sembilan’s state flower—the Pepper Flower (Bunga Lada)—as a central design motif. Through batik textiles and contemporary silhouettes, the collection translated state identity and heritage into a modern fashion language.

More than 100 students, alumni, and models participated in the runway presentations, demonstrating how fashion can serve as a living platform for cultural education, creative expression, and heritage transmission within a school and community setting.

A Cultural Showcase Beyond the Runway

The two-day cultural programme extended beyond fashion, incorporating music, traditional performance, art, and interactive cultural activities. Highlights included live musical performances integrated into the fashion presentation and traditional Negeri Sembilan dance elements, creating a multi-sensory cultural experience for attendees.

Supported by cultural and tourism-related organisations, the event emphasised that heritage is not static display, but a form of living culture—meant to be experienced, participated in, and passed on.

The ASEAN Records recognition affirms the significance of this achievement not only in numerical scale, but in its ability to mobilise collective participation around cultural pride, education, and identity.

A Landmark Moment of Recognition

The ASEAN Records certificate was officially presented on 24 January 2026 at Chung Hua High School.

The certificate was proudly received by Karl Ho, recognising his leadership in conceptualising and executing a cultural fashion initiative that successfully united large-scale community participation with meaningful heritage representation.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition, Karl Ho shared:

“This recognition by ASEAN Records is not about fashion alone—it is about culture, education, and belonging. Batik carries our stories, and when thousands come together wearing it with pride, it shows that heritage is alive.

Bringing this showcase back to my alma mater was especially meaningful. It represents continuity—where education, culture, and creativity meet. When people move together with the same purpose, culture gains the strength to resonate far beyond the runway.”

About the Cultural Fashion Initiative

The Jiuzhou Cultural Heritage International Fashion Showcase was conceived as a platform to integrate Negeri Sembilan’s cultural symbols, state flower identity, and batik heritage into contemporary expression. By combining fashion, education, and community participation, the initiative demonstrated how traditional culture can be reimagined and sustained through modern creative platforms.

Through record-setting participation and cross-generational involvement, the event stands as a benchmark for culture-led community mobilisation and heritage-driven fashion innovation.

This landmark recognition coincides with Kluang TV Coffee’s 60th anniversary, affirming the brand’s enduring role in preserving Malaysia’s coffee heritage while establishing itself as a leading destination for state-certified industrial and cultural tourism in Johor.

Preserving Coffee Heritage Through Public Engagement

Founded in 1966 in Kluang, Johor, Kluang TV Coffee was built on a strong commitment to traditional Nanyang-style coffee and hand-roasting methods that preserve the authentic taste generations of Malaysians grew up with. From its early beginnings supplying local kopitiams, the brand has grown into a household name with distribution across retail stores, supermarkets, and major e-commerce platforms nationwide.

What sets Kluang TV Coffee apart is its decision to open its working factory to the public. Unlike conventional coffee factories focused solely on production, Kluang TV Coffee invites visitors to observe the roasting and processing stages up close, learn about coffee bean origins and blends, and experience the finished product through on-site tasting—bridging production, education, and experience in one location.

Between January and December 2025, the factory recorded 91,056 registered visitors, a figure officially certified and endorsed by Tourism Johor. These recorded figures are based on documented group and tour visits, indicating that total footfall—including walk-in families and individual visitors—is likely even higher. Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition, Goh Yong Kian, Chief Executive Officer of Kluang TV Coffee, shared:

“This recognition by ASEAN Records is a meaningful validation of what makes Kluang TV Coffee different. While many coffee factories focus solely on production, we chose to open our doors to the public—so visitors can not only enjoy coffee, but also understand how it is made.

Here, people can see the roasting and processing stages, learn about the coffee beans we use and where they come from, and then experience the taste for themselves. Recording over 91,000 registered visitors in a year is strong proof of public interest, and the actual number is likely even higher.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition and the inspiration behind Andaman Seafood Village, Peter Tey, Managing Director of Andaman Group, shared:

“When we first started, there was no restaurant in Kuala Lumpur dedicated to ASEAN cuisine in a complete way. We saw an opportunity to create something different—a seafood restaurant with a resort-style concept right in the city centre, where people could experience the diversity of ASEAN flavours under one roof.

Kuala Lumpur welcomes tourists from all over the world, and we wanted to give them a place where they could explore ASEAN cuisine in a single dining experience. That idea became the foundation of Andaman Seafood Village.

The Andaman brand itself began with Andaman Seafood, and as the response in Bukit Bintang grew stronger, we were presented with the opportunity to develop a larger space at Menara EcoWorld. That led to the creation of a themed event hall capable of hosting up to 1,500 guests—something that had not been done before in Kuala Lumpur’s city centre. This journey reflects our belief that food, space, and experience should come together to create something meaningful.”

About Andaman Seafood Village

Andaman Seafood Village is a flagship seafood dining destination dedicated to showcasing the diversity of ASEAN cuisines through authentic recipes and regionally inspired cooking styles. Designed as a large-scale, single-compound venue, the restaurant brings together seafood traditions from across Southeast Asia in a unified culinary experience.

The ASEAN Records certificate was proudly received by Daniel Wan (Director & Founder), together with Kelly Lim (Director & Co-Founder), Mandy Wan (Operation Manager), and Nicholas Wan (Event Manager), in recognition of their leadership and collective effort in building a customer-driven, fully in-house catering and event service operation.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition, Daniel Wan, Director & Founder of DaMoo Kitchen & Event, shared:

“This recognition by ASEAN Records affirms our belief that food quality and service excellence must go hand in hand. Managing everything in-house is demanding, but it allows us to stay accountable to our customers at every stage. The feedback we receive motivates us to keep improving and to deliver experiences that people can truly trust.”
