Malaysia Aviation Group Recognised by ASEAN & ASIA Records for Largest Airline Trade Pavilion at a Consumer Travel Fair

ASEAN Records and ASIA Records are proud to officially recognise Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) for achieving a landmark milestone in the aviation and travel industry:

Largest Airline Trade Pavilion at a Consumer Travel Fair
(46,000 sq ft total built-up space, 3-floor structure, MATTA Fair, 3–5 April 2026, MITEC Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

This dual recognition highlights a groundbreaking achievement in experiential aviation marketing, redefining how airline brands engage with travellers through scale, innovation, and immersive design.

Introducing the MAG Arena — A New Benchmark in Aviation Showcases

At the heart of this achievement is the MAG Arena, a bold, multi-level aviation pavilion unveiled during MATTA Fair 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

Spanning an impressive 46,000 square feet across three floors, the MAG Arena brought together Malaysia Aviation Group’s full airline portfolio — Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and Amal — under one iconic and integrated showcase.

Far beyond a conventional exhibition booth, the MAG Arena delivered a fully immersive travel experience, featuring:

  • Exclusive travel promotions and real-time booking opportunities
  • Cabin showcases and walkthrough theatre experiences
  • Interactive digital and AI-powered travel tools
  • Virtual reality experiences and destination activations
  • Lifestyle-driven engagement zones and curated visitor journeys

This large-scale, multi-dimensional pavilion set a new regional benchmark for airline participation at consumer travel fairs.

Creating Immersive and Interactive Visitor Journeys

Designed as an experiential environment rather than a static display, the pavilion enabled visitors to explore aviation in a dynamic and engaging way.

Thousands of visitors experienced:

  • Immersive rooms simulating travel environments
  • Interactive installations bridging physical and digital experiences
  • Destination storytelling through themed zones
  • Live engagement activities connecting travel, lifestyle, and entertainment

A major highlight included a special meet-and-greet session with Manchester United legends Gary Neville, Andy Cole, and Wes Brown, drawing strong crowds and reinforcing MAG’s global brand partnerships.

In conjunction with the event, MAG also announced new international routes to Shenzhen and Changsha (China), as well as Fukuoka (Japan) — further strengthening Malaysia’s global connectivity and aviation network.

Strengthening Malaysia’s Position as a Regional Aviation Hub

This initiative reflects Malaysia Aviation Group’s broader vision to position Malaysia as a key gateway for regional and international travel.

By elevating its presence at one of Malaysia’s largest travel fairs, MAG successfully:

  • Showcased its airline ecosystem in an integrated platform
  • Strengthened Malaysia’s tourism visibility
  • Connected travellers with destinations, services, and experiences
  • Reinforced the country’s role as a regional aviation and tourism hub

The scale and impact of the MAG Arena demonstrate how innovation, storytelling, and experiential engagement can transform the future of travel marketing.

A Milestone Moment of Recognition

The ASEAN Records and ASIA Records certificates were officially presented on 3 April 2026 at MATTA Fair, MITEC Kuala Lumpur.

The recognition was received by:

  • Mr Bryan Foong Chee Yeong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business
  • Mr Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airline Business

on behalf of Malaysia Aviation Group, acknowledging their leadership in delivering large-scale, customer-centric innovation in the aviation industry.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the achievement, Mr Bryan Foong Chee Yeong shared:

“This recognition reflects our commitment to creating meaningful and engaging experiences that bring our brands closer to travellers. Through the MAG Arena, we reimagined how people interact with aviation — making it more immersive, accessible, and inspiring.”

“By combining innovation, technology, and Malaysian Hospitality in one space, we aim to set a new benchmark for airline engagement while supporting the growth of Malaysia’s tourism and aviation industry.”

Advancing Experiential Aviation Through Innovation

This milestone underscores the growing importance of experiential engagement in the aviation and travel industry.

As traveller expectations evolve, Malaysia Aviation Group’s achievement demonstrates how airlines can go beyond traditional marketing to create memorable, interactive, and meaningful journeys.

The MAG Arena sets a new standard not only for ASEAN, but for Asia’s aviation industry, highlighting the power of scale, innovation, and integrated experience design in shaping the future of travel.
