ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Candy Lee Ying Ying and Daniel Lee Qing Yan for achieving an extraordinary musical milestone as the: Most Multi-Category Ukulele Competition Awards Achieved by a Sibling Duo Across National and International Competitions (22 awards spanning Strum & Sing, Fingerstyle, Ukestra, Group Performance, Online & Songwriting divisions from 2022–2025)

This recognition celebrates the siblings’ exceptional artistry, discipline, and consistent excellence across diverse performance categories — reaffirming their place as one of Malaysia’s most accomplished young ukulele duos.


A Trailblazing Duo in Regional Ukulele Excellence

Known for their versatility, musical maturity, and dynamic stage chemistry, Candy Lee Ying Ying and Daniel Lee Qing Yan have rapidly become standout figures in Malaysia’s contemporary ukulele scene.

Across the past four years, the duo has distinguished themselves by winning awards across multiple divisions — an achievement rarely accomplished by performers of their age.

Their record reflects years of dedication, rigorous training, and a shared passion that continues to elevate the visibility of Malaysian ukulele talent on regional and global platforms.


A Competitive Journey Defined by Achievement

As highlighted through their competitive journey, Candy and Daniel have accumulated an impressive tally of 22 total awards across national and international stages.

Their signature performance piece, “Body Surfing”, has earned 10 awards between 2023–2025, including:

  • 5 – Champions
  • 1 – First Runner-Up
  • 2 – Second Runner-Up
  • 1 – Third Runner-Up
  • 1 – Top 5 at the 12th Annual International Ukulele Contest (Hawaii) 2024

This piece has become a defining showcase of their technical precision, musical flair, and performance excellence.


A Moment of Official Recognition

The ASEAN Records certificate was formally presented on 30 November 2025, at 1:25 PM, at the Main Atrium, Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur.

To draw the crowd, the event opened with a special Opening Performance, followed by a welcoming speech by the Club President. The ceremony then proceeded to the official ASEAN Records Certificate Presentation, where Candy Lee Ying Ying and Daniel Lee Qing Yan received their recognition on stage.

Immediately after receiving their certificate, the duo performed their award-winning piece “Body Surfing”, the song that has brought them 10 major awards over the past three years.

The celebration continued with the Music Video Launch, followed by a group photo session at the main backdrop with VIPs, supporters, and fans.
