Janahan Arumugam Recognised by ASEAN Records for Conducting One of the Longest and Largest Online Secondary Mathematics Seminars

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Janahan Arumugam for achieving the milestone:

Most Students and Longest Continuous Duration Achieved in an Online Secondary Mathematics Seminar (1,500 students aged 16–17 in a single session on 10 October 2021; 14 hours 30 minutes duration)

This recognition highlights an exceptional achievement in the field of education, demonstrating how dedication, endurance, and innovative teaching approaches can create large-scale impact in online learning environments.

Delivering Large-Scale Impact Through Online Mathematics Education

Conducted on 10 October 2021 via Zoom, the seminar brought together 1,500 secondary school students aged 16 to 17 in a single session, making it one of the largest online Mathematics seminars of its kind.

Spanning a continuous 14 hours and 30 minutes (870 minutes), the session required sustained focus, energy, and engagement—reflecting a high level of commitment to delivering quality educational content at scale.

The seminar was designed to support students preparing for key examinations, incorporating structured lessons, revision strategies, and concept-based learning to strengthen mathematical understanding.

Commitment to Educational Excellence and Student Success

The achievement reflects more than scale and duration—it highlights a teaching approach focused on accessibility, clarity, and real-world effectiveness.

Through carefully planned content delivery and interactive engagement, the seminar provided students with practical techniques to improve problem-solving skills and examination performance. Supporting materials, structured modules, and real-time interaction ensured that participants remained engaged throughout the extended session.

As reflected in the supporting documentation, the initiative emphasised exam-oriented strategies, revision techniques, and concept mastery tailored for SPM-level students.

A Milestone Moment of Recognition

The ASEAN Records certificate was officially presented on 11 April 2026 at Pusat Tuisyen Arena Matriks.

The recognition was awarded to Janahan Arumugam, and was witnessed by Y.B. Tuan Papparaidu A/L Veraman, in acknowledgement of his achievement and contribution to advancing large-scale digital learning initiatives in Mathematics education.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition and the journey behind the achievement, Janahan Arumugam shared:

“I’m very happy and proud to receive this recognition for achieving the most students and longest continuous duration in an online secondary Mathematics seminar. It means a lot to me, especially knowing the journey behind it.

There were moments where I felt like giving up. But what kept me going was the encouragement from my students—their determination, their fear of exams, and their trust that I would be there to guide them. That gave me the motivation to keep showing up and continue what I started.

To all students and anyone chasing a goal, my advice is simple: never give up on your dreams. Stay consistent, keep going, and believe in the process. I’m truly grateful for all the support and I wish everyone the very best.

Advancing the Future of Digital Education in ASEAN
