Through her accomplishment, Sharveena demonstrates how artistic expression can become a meaningful platform for celebrating national pride, individuality, and the creative potential of young achievers.

Celebrating National Pride Through Clay Art

At just 13 years and 9 months old, Sharveena Premnath completed a commemorative clay painting of the Jalur Gemilang on 23 September 2026, transforming Malaysia’s national flag into a distinctive handcrafted artwork.

Measuring 587 mm × 419 mm, the single-panel creation incorporated 1,400 grams of hand-applied modelling clay, reflecting the effort and attention required to bring the commemorative design to life.

By presenting the Jalur Gemilang through a three-dimensional clay painting, Sharveena combined artistic creativity with national symbolism, creating a meaningful tribute to Malaysia’s identity and unity.

Demonstrating Creativity, Patience and Artistic Determination

Unlike conventional paintings created using brushes and pigments, Sharveena’s artwork involved the application and shaping of modelling clay to form the commemorative design on a single panel.

The creative process highlighted the importance of patience, concentration, hand coordination, and attention to detail, demonstrating her determination to complete an ambitious artistic project.

As a young neurodivergent achiever, Sharveena’s accomplishment also reflects the value of recognising different forms of creative expression and providing opportunities for young individuals to showcase their talents and achievements.

Inspiring Young Achievers Through Artistic Expression

Sharveena’s ASEAN Records recognition represents more than an artistic accomplishment. It highlights the meaningful contributions that young creators can make through imagination, dedication, and perseverance.

Her achievement serves as an encouraging example of how creativity can transcend conventional expectations, allowing individuals to communicate ideas, celebrate cultural identity, and express their unique perspectives.

Through this milestone, Sharveena hopes to inspire other young individuals, including neurodivergent children, to explore their interests, develop their abilities, and take pride in their personal achievements.

Voices of Inspiration

“I feel very happy and proud to receive this recognition from ASEAN Records. Creating the Jalur Gemilang clay painting was a special experience for me because I could express my creativity while celebrating my love for Malaysia. I enjoyed working with the different colours and shaping the clay to complete the artwork.

There were moments when the process required a lot of patience and concentration, but I wanted to keep trying until I finished it. Seeing my artwork completed made me feel proud of what I had achieved, and receiving this recognition makes the experience even more meaningful.

I hope my achievement can encourage other children to believe in themselves and explore what they love doing. Everyone has their own talents, and I believe that with encouragement, patience, and determination, we can all achieve something special.”
