Chongdee Teahouse Recognised by ASEAN Records for Pioneering Naturally Brewed Colourless Thai Tea Using 100% Ceylon Leaves

ASEAN Records is proud to officially recognise Chongdee Teahouse for achieving the milestone: First Naturally Brewed Colourless Thai Tea Made from 100% Ceylon Leaves via In-House Steam Distillation Certified Free from Synthetic Food Colourings

This recognition marks a significant breakthrough in the specialty tea and beverage industry, affirming Chongdee Teahouse’s leadership in reimagining traditional Thai tea through natural brewing innovation, ingredient integrity, and in-house production control.

Redefining Thai Tea Through Natural Brewing Innovation

Traditionally known for its distinctive orange hue, Thai tea has long relied on added colourings to achieve its signature appearance. Chongdee Teahouse challenged this convention by developing a naturally brewed, colourless Thai tea, achieved through in-house steam distillation using 100% Ceylon tea leaves.

By removing synthetic food colourings entirely, Chongdee preserves the authentic aroma and flavour profile of Thai tea while offering a cleaner, more transparent beverage option aligned with modern consumer preferences for natural and responsibly crafted products.

This innovation reflects Chongdee Teahouse’s commitment to craftsmanship, process ownership, and ingredient purity—demonstrating that tradition and innovation can coexist without compromise.

A Landmark Moment of Recognition

The ASEAN Records certificate was officially presented on 30 January 2026 during the grand opening of Chongdee Teahouse’s first outlet in Malaysia, held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

The ASEAN Records certificate was proudly received by Mr. Chatchawan Limpathanawat and Ms. Sureeporn Poonsakpaisan, Co-Founders of Chongdee Teahouse, together with Mr. Max Choo, Director of Chongdee Teahouse Malaysia, and Mr. Gregory Chen, Director of Chongdee Teahouse Malaysia, in recognition of their leadership and innovation behind this milestone achievement.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the recognition, Mr. Chatchawan Limpathanawat, Co-Founder of Chongdee Teahouse, shared:

“This recognition by ASEAN Records affirms our belief that great tea begins with respect for ingredients and process. Creating a naturally colourless Thai tea using 100% Ceylon leaves required us to rethink traditional methods while staying true to flavour authenticity.

We are proud to introduce a cleaner, naturally brewed Thai tea experience to Malaysia, and this milestone motivates us to continue innovating responsibly while honouring the heritage of Thai tea culture.”
