The official certificate presentation ceremony was held on 20 September 2025, in honour of Prof. Dr. Hiew’s outstanding contributions to scholarship and lifelong learning.
With a total of 20 doctorate degrees, earned and honorary, across diverse fields such as Business Administration, Humanities, Law, Buddhist Studies, and Strategic Leadership, Prof. Dr. Hiew has broken conventional boundaries — proving that age and retirement are no barriers to academic excellence.
His record is not only a personal triumph, but a symbol of dedication and resilience that inspires police officers, public servants, and retirees across ASEAN to pursue education beyond service.
A Scholar With a Spirit of Service
Prof. Dr. Hiew served the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for over 36 years, retiring as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). Known for his integrity, discipline, and leadership, he exemplified public service at the highest level. Following his retirement, he embraced a new journey: pursuing academic growth as a lifelong learner.
